Practice Description

In the field of civil and commercial dispute resolution, Ms. Deng specializes in disputes arising from corporate governance, restructuring, construction engineering contracts, insolvency, liquidation or distressed situations. In particular, for foreign related civil and commercial matters, she has successfully assisted international clients in taking over companies in Mainland China to recover their assets by means of a series of civil proceedings from investigation through to trial in dozens of projects arising from liquidation and restructuring. She has ample experience in providing legal services for cross-border proceedings having been commenced in Canada, Singapore and Hong Kong, etc., including issuing PRC legal advice, conducting specific legal investigation, and giving evidence before the courts for proceedings overseas. She also represents clients in arbitral proceedings, proceedings of recognition and enforcement of foreign arbitral awards and foreign judgments in China.

In the IP field, Ms. Deng has handled multiple complex IP disputes involving foreign elements, covering copyright, unfair competition, patent, and trademark. She is well-versed in preparing strategies for IP protection and enforcement.

In respect of foreign investment, Ms. Deng provides full range services for foreign investors, including participating in negotiations, drafting legal documents, handling foreign exchange procedures, processing registration formalities, etc.. She thus has a fairly in-depth understanding of legal issues concerning foreign investment in Mainland China.

In nonlitigation field, Ms. Deng provides legal advice on clients’ daily operation, covering areas of corporate government, IP, international financing, compliance review, employment management and employment disputes. She is familiar with companies’ usual operation issues.

Education and Work Experience

Ms. Deng graduated from the Law School of Minzu University of China where she obtained a LL.B in 2004 and a Master’s Degree of Economic Law in 2007.

Ms. Deng joined ZY Partners in 2007 and was licensed to practice law in Mainland China in 2009.

Admission and Professional Membership Qualifications

Member of All China Lawyers Association; member of Beijing Lawyers Association; member of the talent pool of foreign-related lawyers in Beijing; member of the Foreign-related Research Group under Beijing Lawyers Association.

An alumna of the 2021 Bar Council Senior Lawyers Training Scheme Programme and a member of 100 Senior Level International Legal Professionals of the Beijing Municipality.
